Intuit has announced that prices and product changes will occur with the upcoming launch of the 2023 QuickBooks Desktop (and related) products.  Based on the announcement from Ted Callahan, Director, QuickBooks Accountant Leader on Tuesday August 9, 2022,  all QuickBooks Desktop Products will now be sold at full MSRP without any discounts in any channels.  The QuickBooks 2023 Desktop prices will be:

  • QuickBooks 2023 Desktop Pro Plus $549
  • QuickBooks 2023 Desktop Mac Plus $549
  • QuickBooks 2023 Desktop Premier Plus $799
  • QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 23.0 – Prices Remain Unchanged for the 2023 (v 23.0) launch
  • QuickBooks 2023 ProAdvisor – Premier Bundle $799
  • QuickBooks 2023 ProAdvisor – Enterprise Bundle $1299

September 6, 2022 is the announced date for availability of QuickBooks 2023 to ProAdvisors and the accounting community. Callahan gave a ‘peek’ into some of the new features users will see in the 2023 products including: improved banking connections, enhanced mileage tracking, and a new Cash flow Hub.  Enterprise users can expect to see Inter-company Transactions, Inventory Categorization, Expiration Dates, Bill and PO Workflow Approvals, and Payment Links Tracking (Enterprise features depend upon your subscription version.)

2023 will also see changes to the standalone QuickBooks Accountant Desktop product  and ProAdvisor Bundles.  These products will become annual subscription products available through Intuit’s internal sales channels. The 2023 subscription product will replace the legacy QuickBooks Accountant Desktop perpetual (3-year supported) license, and it will include multi-user access not available with a ProAdvisor bundle.

Support terms for QuickBooks Desktop Accountant and Enterprise Accountant 2023 licenses, purchased as part of the ProAdvisor bundles, are also changing to align with the bundles’ annual subscription terms. This means that the 2023 ProAdvisor bundles will include support until May 31, 2024, or for the duration of the ProAdvisors’ active subscription (see EUSLA 2023 Section B 13.1.2. referenced below).

Intuit has made changes to their End User Software License Agreements impacting their currently supported software versions and the new version they will be releasing for 2023. Additional details are available within Intuit’s policy on “Discontinuation and End of Software Support.” To review the updated policy, see Section B 13.1.2. and 13.1.3. of the End User License Agreement: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/software-licenses/.

Callahan also announced that September 20, 2022 was the scheduled general release of QuickBooks 2023 to small businesses.

For additional information you can read Intuit’s related Firm of the Future blog post that mentions an email was sent August 2 (the email was actually not distributed until August 9th).

With the scheduled release of the Desktop product-line to the ProAdvisor and accounting community Insightful Accountant will begin publishing our annual series on the new features associated with QuickBooks 2023.
